DEGAUSSING
The degaussing process is a highly effective method for permanently erasing data from hard drives (HDD) and other magnetic media, such as data tapes and floppy disks. While physical destruction (shredding) is a widely accepted approach that renders the hard drives unreadable by traditional means, some customers may choose to incorporate degaussing as an additional layer of security for safeguarding sensitive data. Degaussing ensures the irreversible erasure of data from hard drives, and we are fully equipped to provide this service before proceeding with the shredding process.
SERIAL NUMBER RECORDATION
We scan the serial numbers of all devices prior to shredding and provide complete serial number recordation (SNR) reports to all customers as well as certificates of destruction. Complete and accurate SNR reports are a vital part of a company’s data security chain of custody process and are integral to any I.T. asset management electronic lifecycle program.
